Chasing Waterfalls: Part 2

To continue with our waterfall theme, I have to mention our second road trip, during October 2020. We visited three separate waterfalls in a jam packed weekend. We were tired, but it was so worth it to see all of them! The first two, Snow Creek Falls and Myrtle Creek Falls were right outside Bonners Ferry, Idaho with Myrtle actually located inside Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. Snow Creek is on "private" property. I only used quotations to say that while the land is essentially private, people are allowed to use the road for parking to access the waterfall because waterfalls can't really be owned. Myrtle was neat to see but not as picture worthy as Snow.

The third waterfall we went to was called Yaak Falls, which is named for Yaak, Montana. The geological force it took to make the landscape the way it does was so incredible to see in person! Because of the time of year it was when we went, my parents and I were able to literally walk on the rocks that are usually buried under water during the spring melt rush. It's also just on the side of the road so there's not any trail you need to use. Just park and you're there!
